2022: FSSC 22000

FOOD SAFETY SYSTEM CERTIFICATION 22000
(ISO 22000:2018, ISO/TS 22002-5:2019 and additional FSSC 22000 requirements (Version 5.1).

July 2022: This summer our BCS-team has worked very hard to make the switch to FSSC 22000.
We are proud to let you know that we completed the certification succesfully and we received the certificate.
With this GFSI recognized standard we show that foodsafety is very important. That risks are mitigated and we work safe with all your stored products.
We have taken the next step in our quality policy and food safety assurance so we will be able to serve our current and future customers even better.

Kenia

December 2018: Recently, BCS Coldstore & Logistics (BCS) closed a deal with Dutch Good Growth Fund (DGGF). DGGF's funding, combined with equity and local funding by Equity Bank, is used to set up the first 3PL cold chain provider (including cold store) in Nairobi, Kenya. Operations are planned to start in Q2 2019. The feasibility study was co-funded by a DHI-grant.
We supported BCS throughout the project with the development of the business plan and memorandum, financial model, finance structure and fundraising.
Thank you for the pleasant cooperation, Wilco Hendriks MBA RB, Barry Brouns, Frans Pluim Mentz, Philip Sigwart and all others involved.

BCS will store all plasma products of Sanquin

BCS Coldstore & Logistics will store and handle all the plasma products of Sanquin (https://www.sanquin.nl/en/) as from July 2017. After an intensive period of more than 6 months with multiple and severe audits in which processes, procedures and requirements were matched, BCS fully complies with all the strict requirements imposed by Sanquin. Both Sanquin and BCS ensures a safe and efficient blood supply in the Netherlands. Next to collecting blood, Sanquin produces pharmaceutical products, conducts high-quality scientific research, develops and performs a multitude of diagnostic services, and provides training and education.

The Dutch Blood Supply Act is intended to strengthen the quality, safety and availability of blood and blood products from unremunerated voluntary donors in the Netherlands. Responsibility for implementation and maintenance of this programme has been entrusted to Sanquin.

The Plasma Products division processes the plasma supplied by the blood banks into medicines for coagulation and immune disorders. These medicines are called plasma products. Sanquin is a major supplier of medicines for patients in the Netherlands. A variety of isolation techniques produces coagulation factors, protease inhibitors, immunoglobulins and albumin. Sanquin Plasma Products works closely with sister organisations in other countries, such as the Department for Central Fractioning (CAF) in Belgium and the Finnish Red Cross.
