Official opening of our cold storage facility in Nairobi

On Saturday 21 October 2023, the fourth generation of the Dekker family cut the ribbon at the festive opening of the new cold store of Beemsterboer Coldstore Services Kenya (BCSK) in Nairobi.
The new cold store has 2,900 pallet spaces. After a year and a half of running, all teething problems are gone and it is now full speed ahead !
The new cold store mainly stores imported fruit from all over the world.
 
The cold store is also a hub for Kenyan avocados that are exported in containers to the Netherlands and other European countries. In addition, ice cream and meat are also stored for the local market.
 
Through the construction of this cold store, BCS Kenya Ltd. contribute to a reduction of local food waste of fresh fruit and vegetables by up to 30%.
